A bit different from most other Tamil movies I've seen, and very good. I had no idea of the outcome of the movie right up until the end, it definitely kept my attention throughout.

OMG!!!! By far, the best Tamil movie ever. I wouldn't call this a movie, I'd call this a 'pokkisham' (treasure). In 10/20/30 years or till the last days of my life, I'll remember this movie. How many movies of most mass heroes would we remember in 5/10 years down the line? Recently, most mass hero movies are below average or just crap. Awesome acting. Awesome story telling. Awesome picture. Every single cast had done their roles perfectly. I had to look up hero's name but from now on, he's made a name for himself. Anandhi, was simply awesome. I think I'm secretly in love with her ;)

An amazing movie. But it hurts when I realize the movie represents the reality of many villages in TN( in fact most of the villages in India). Hope in the future ( not sure how long) , people would realize the fact and kick the butt of the casting system and let it vanish..

Wow! Loved - camera, actors, acting, Yogi, BGM, direction and story - Kudos! Not as much: cute Jo yet clueless, being careful not to mention any caste/relgion but yet show the Prof (against Pari) with a namam. Tch-tch! Some scenes - eg climax, speech thru a broken car window (which symbolizes a crack in the dogmas?) - were so mature, sad and yet insightful. Beautiful painting by Mari Selvaraj. Watched again and again but never get bored. Cried every time even though I saw several times. But I am really very disappointed with people who were not supported this movie to become Blockbuster.

it ponders the caste discrimination in education institutions, working environment, social setting in india today. the film gives a poignant and sincere look at the human condition. a film not to be missed!

Have no idea this movie is rated highly. Definitely was a waste of my time.

It's one thing to state facts in a film. The movement is called "realism". It is another thing to twist facts to drive your political agenda. The latter is what Pa. Ranjith is doing. This film is horrible for many reasons, including misappropriation of so-called rap music and strings to drive their agenda. Also bad is cinematography, where you can see every scene is colored, clearly indicated by bright white background colors wherever there is little light. Bad film.

1. I do not understand this obsession to teach in English in India especially the Justice system. These students are supposed to interact and explain to the lay man that does not understand Englais... The language of oppression and colonization. I find this ridiculous that the defacto lingua franca of the justice system is Englais which most folks do not understand bur are expected to....

Caste issues are overrepresented in movies let alone Tamil movies. Sure there are some caste issues but I see them getting solved with each passing day. But people have to understand that there are external forces trying to take advantage of whatever caste issues we have in the society. Good movie but overtold storyline.

Movie Apart, if this is the state of affairs of future lawyers in India, no wonder there is no justice....

Not a moment where we feel sleepy

Nice movie. First half appears to be slow & normal but second half makes it big time to justify the entire movie. Brings the subtle truth about honor killings and caste based behaviours.

Actors have done a good job expressing themselves well to fit their screen character. However, the story line sucks. How far we have travelled with reservation, yet the backlogged remains backlogged because of their attitude. I for one come from the city the protogonist goes for his law school. I had to travel to Chennai and found it difficult to follow the english. Everyone, coming from Tamil backgroud goes through these distresses. If you blame everything on external factors, development will be far fetched even after 1000 yrs of reservation.

Movie of the century ! Not exaggerating, Truly an amazing movie! there is so much to ponder over in society, the social hierarchy we have and the disparity it makes among humans. Let us give equal opportunity to all right from the start not to improve their potential but to show others everyone is equal ! There is never a great movie there will never be. Kudos to the man behind this movie.

what is sad is in 2024 also, many honor killings are happening just because someone loved a different caste person. when is India going to grow up? when are people going to grow up? when are they going to realize true history of India, Tamil Nadu before 2000 years. We tamilians never had any discriminations before 2000 years before immigrants stepped into the country. Why are we not understanding caste was introduced to our society by outsiders and we insiders are fighting each other even after 2000 years. Pathetic. We were progressive 2000 years ago than today. Its time to change.
