horrible! tried copying godfather. mani ratnam has lost his mind!

loved it! love mani ratnam's films especially for his vsions and the way he pans the camera. I don't understand why some ppl said aditi rao didn't have enough screen time, i thght it was reasonable, at least had more value as compared to aishwerya rajesh's character. Also, i was very disappointed with aishwerya's performance; her srilankan tamil accent was horrible and her dialogue delivery was so awkward-sounding.

Excellent performance by Jyothika, Aravind Swamy, Vijay sethupathy and STR especially. The rest of the cast did well too. Happy to see Mansoor Ali khan and Prakash Raj!

ARR created just another magic! Hayati, Kalavani, Mazhai Kuruvi are the best. Hayati is a Jewel in the Crown! Sad that none of the songs were used well. Mani disappointed us again! Terrible screenplay, easy to guess! We were 2/3 into the movie, still none of the characters were established well. Although all the Stars did their part right!

It is high time Mani Rathnam is retired from Cine field.

Not so bad though. Could have been better. Vanjagar Ulagam is a good example. Thanks.

Did not expect anything less from Mani Ratnam from a direction perspective. But story is quite stale. Fantastic acting as well.

Weak Story ! Weak direction ! Confusing screen play. Not a single powerful dialogue/scene, only made to look powerful with facial expressions and background sound. Big cast and ARR wasted! Songs just OK. Don't waste time watching this movie.

What's with putting songs in every scene? They don't even suit the scene. Fucking annoying stupid director.

Not impressed, feeling disappointed

Disappointed, lengthy movie made me feel more disappointed! This story should have been told in a 90-minutes movie, it could have been a hit otherwise.

I think mani ratnam should stop Making movie all his movies in the recent are garbage. Box office disaster. Within 15 mins i could tell what the story is. Poorly written screenplay. Mani is good only for old moviesssss. Now with tred he cant ahould retireeeee. Waste of timeeereer

All mani ratnams fils that are made now you can tell the story of the movie with in 10 mins, very poor screen play. He has lost his touch i would say ! Look at his recent movies starting from raavanan, kadal, ok kanmani, kaatru veliyidai, Chekka chivanthan vaanam, poorly done ! i was very much love with his older movies but now i start hating his work ! Very boring to watch his movies now despite the star cast ! Since ccv is a multi star movies expected alot from it but very disappointed !

this is a brilliant movie with very complexed personality in each role. gets better when watching 2nd time. but not many will like it. i love it!!

Unbelievable. Mani Ratnam lost his flare and should move one. Such a lacklustre movie.. movies like 96, pariyerum perumal and even ratsasan is 1000 times better. Mani Ratnam needs to re watch his own movies and find real inspiration and look for good scripts. May be direct a biopic. So many achievers hail from Tamil Nadu and he took a biopic of Ambani but it was decent. He should try the same one more time or try something with flair like ayudha ezhuthu or May be a biopic if Abdul Kalam

criminal waste of time

Watch this movie only if you are a VJS or STR fan. Their acting was absolutely classy! Arvind Swamy and Prakash Raj did well. Storyline was alright, but the weak direction and the narration ruined the plot. Saw some idiots complaining about how this movie seems similar to The Godfather. In reality, there are no similarities between the two movies. Some of the reviewers, I feel, are here just to spread bullshit in the comments section. A one time watch, that's all!

What a crap it was. Couldn't understand anyone's characters. What they want actually. Why the father discriminate his elder son while educate other sons. And the big brother having a kept while loving his wife and the wife who cought her husband red handed with another girl roaming with him like nothing happened. Everyone's charecter is a maze 😵

The film, the story was perfect but pure the cast it was necessary to put Superstar Rajinikanth instead of Prakash Raj, Ultimate Star Ajith Kumar instead of Arawind Swamy, Ilayathalapathy Vijay instead of Arun Vijay, Suriya instead from Simbu and Chiyaan Vikram to Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi.
