Asha jaoar Majhe ('Labour of love') , the well-scripted melodrama set in the time of recession, backed by some brilliant technicians and two awesome lead actors .. just 2 characters with NO dialogues spoken for the entire movie, yet the movie was so intense. More than the screenplay or direction or lead characters , the sound mixing and cinematography impressed me a lot. I can't remember any other movie with better sound mixing than this. Just loved the way it was filmed and the characters were portrayed!! 80 mins of pure gold!! Whattay movie ! Do not miss it..

Something delightfully different, no dialogue, just beautiful cinematography! A little slow in some parts, but definitely worth watching.

Probably the most Ray-like movie since his demise and that includes Rituparno Ghosh as well. Should definitely have been India's official entry for the Academy Awards. I know that the Hollywood doesn't like slow movies unlike Europe, and the sole criticism of Ray's masterpiece Charulata was that it moved at a glacial pace.Yet, I feel the only chance of winning an Oscar will be from these offbeat filmmaking. Here I refer to entire filmmaking process, not only the script and the performances. Basabdatta needs to do more lead roles in Bengali TV/movies.
