Either sushant didn't have faith in the project (which is understandable because it's a terrible film) or he simply didn't know how to handle this fantastical plot. After all, his genre was real true to life characters in which he, of course, excelled. I think he idealized and wanted big movies like Shahrukh khan but didn't really believe in the masala movies that are so characteristic of SRK. Let's just say that this one movie was his blindspot! Well, we all make mistakes! RIP- you almost never disappointed us :)

I admit, I didn't like this movie that much, it felt rushed at the end. I don't know what happened, Karan said he didn't like the final product so he pushed it to be released on Netflix. Even Jacqueline wanted it to be released in theatres. It may not be a 'blockbuster', but probably enough to get back the money spent for making this movie. Almost everyday we know something new about Sushant's professional career, and it did seem like it was the taken movies that depressed him but that may not be the case... he had other dreams to complete...

Even Sushant felt bad for the screenplay & plot change. its all karan planned it to make his career down. other than drive all his movies are only acting oriented script. Byomkesh is one masterpiecce acting by sushant
