In some ways raping of a woman post marriage is glorified. Animal like behavior is shown as innocence. Just because he has had few drinks doesn't mean he can be an animal. Its just impossible and impractical for a women to love such a husband again.

I think we all view the movie based on our own experiences to a certain extent. I feel nowhere in the movie rape is glorified! It has been portrayed as wrong, no excuses. It just says how a person can make a mistake (however heinous it is) and how, as a family, they come together. You cannot be so myopic in your thoughts, even though you have all the rights to say how you feel. Try to find something positive in life, believe me, the world is lot better than what you think it is!

Cannot agree with the movie makers. No excuses for rape and glorifying this as innocence is naive. Also throughout the movie women were portrayed as weak, to stay home, cook and serve men. It's 2020.

A beautiful film, about human emotions, mistakes and resolution. Depicted very real and without over drama, simply as it would in real life. The cast is brilliant, there is not one of the actors, not even in the small supporting roles, that falters in their performance. It also shows a slice of life from that area of India that is vastly different and unique. This is one of the best films I have seen in a while.

The personality doesn't match up. A person who is so good with nature, animals and people, and who has grown up with a mom and sisters is more gentle, unless he has a mental problem. The former kind of person doesn't behave roughly with women, and the latter doesn't get cured without counseling and/ or medication. Not a believable plot. And if one is to look at this simply as an entertainer, then it cannot be considered entertaining...its too archaic for that, and not a behavior that should be endorsed.

A movie about things that actually happen, happened or can happen...he was drunk and listened to other men bragging. It is not by any means a good thing, it is horrible for women, and nobody has asked anyone to endorse the behavior.

Nice movie, nice casting and nice acting. Understandable tho some 'deep thinkers' got annoyed. Yes, instead of waiting around for the woman to 'make or break' the marriage, the man could have taken responsibility and done something to save it. Could have shown the value in counseling. Also not true to claim a lot of marriages are like this. Ignorance yes. Violence no.
