I am Maharashtrian but great fan of Malayalam movies. Don't usually comment but this movie made me do it...what an excellent movie..I hope at least a few MEN will change their attitude towards ladies in their family after watching this ..

shows how badly women are treated in family and society and that their dreams and desires have to be cancelled or put down so that they can follow traditional customs which is just total BS

Plot shines light on the dichotomy of expectations and resultant chaos when conservative and liberal outlooks clash. Script dilutes the message stringing the sabirimala issue. Good performance by all actors.

I am a Nigerian man and this goes out to all the men. As a man, you have to learn to see every woman as a human being. Have some decency and empathy. If you have a wife, treating her as equal doesn't make you less of a man because she is a part of you. Be conscious of her well being and everything that happens in your home.That your generations or ancestors treated women subserviently doesn't mean you have to do the same today. Don't allow anyone, not even your parents to decide how you want to run your family.

What a beautifully crafted and performed storyline with a hidden subliminal thread of how far an Indian man is willing to suppress the voice of a women (a.k.a his wife) behind archaic traditions and an effort to maintain his masculinity and sexist supremacy both inside and outside his home. The most touching aspect was how the film maker has shot all the sounds of the kitchen to depict behind which the voice of women dies down. Epic dance at the end was amazing!

Good topic - about time such issues be addressed in the mainstream. Sorely disappointed with the sloppy movie direction though - almost made me turn it off.

Acclaimable movie, with deep meaning and apt acting. This movie is probably more suited for people, in matrimonial search, to make sure what to expect. Instead of tagging as male domination, could see it as difference on expectation and reality. Of course husbands can help on house hold chores. Hats off to all Women who take care of these tiresome chores, for years with tolerance, without complaining (like mother-in-law in the movie), Lucky to have you in any family.

the first half of the movie brilliantly portrayed the plight of women universally. but the second half reduced it to a political and religious issue only faced by Hindus, that too Ayyappa devotees. why?

Great movie! Refreshing to see real life shown raw on screen without unnecessary fluff and glitter. Just like how fans absorb movie styles and trends, I hope people understand the message conveyed through this movie and take it on instead of fighting over it.

I am pretty sure that this movie received the most number of comments on einthusan and it reflects the image of society we live in and are blind fold to the many of bad practices in the name of customs. Indeed this movie is an mirror to such members of the society who thinks that women role is just limited in doing household chores. Its an excellent movie made and though I don't come from Kerala, I totally understand the message given. Soon in future I guess that forcing wife to take care of house will amount to cruelty under Marriage law.

Lacking music (not songs). Women do a lot of work at home and they don't get appreciated or get help. Guys need to step up and help them as well. You don't need to do everything but some help will give them some relief.

One of the best I have seen. Simple yet powerful storytelling. The first 30 minutes of the movie was slow moving and repetitive, but I realized it was necessary to show what the daily routine is and how robotic she becomes. I felt so exasperated in the entire movie after. And outraged with the characters played by the husband and father in law. It proves what good actors those 2 men were as well. It is upsetting that this still exists in the world today.

It’s a old traditional life style which most of us could have seen in our lives , no doubt the content of the movie is very good but after watching last 30 minutes or so I guessed this movie director for sure gonna be a converted person … and looking by his name it became sure :) Make good film but don’t hurt any religious sentiment. Every religion has got their own credibility just leave them alone. Pray for India ..

Excellent movie... everyone should watch it, regardless of education & the exposure to modern way & thinking of life most Asian women go through this oppression to some extent.

Great depiction of what actually happens in most Indian Homes. Grateful for this movie which brings awareness, especially to both males and females in the Indian homes. Everyone deserves happiness, joy, and love, INCLUDING women :)

Wonderful movie. Indeed Indian kitchen is the only one which operates all 8 hours and afterwards without any leave. A tight slap on Men who considers woman only as their unpaid servant. She has feelings, thoughts and has a say in all matters. Hats off to Joe Baby director for this awesome movie. 👌 The climax is great , actually that idiotic husband & father in law deserves a slap too not just waste water. Still sadly this indian society considers marriage as a end point for a girl to think or go to job and be independent. That should change. This movie would be a welcome change.

Good concept which could have been made in more engaging way with better screenplay...However it turned out to be a boring one with no drama...

Everything is great but one thing keeps on pricking me. Why in the Last dance everyone skin tone is very light, there is no one with dark skin tone.
