Couldn't respectfully disagree more. Except for your communal boogeyman comment the movie didn't depict any overt communal angle. Bhasi a hindu actor plays Roy the christian character, Mathew a christian actor plays Vishnu the hindu character and movie is written and directed by Muhammed Mustafa a muslim. Tikka/Saffron is perhaps for deception. Premise of director was to point out reality isn't what it seems. Excellent movie. The landscape it was portrayed on was awesome.

We can respectfully disagree. Actors are paid to do their parts. How is a Christian guy doing a Hindu villain making the message legitimate? In my experience, most movies showing a particular community in bad light also try to be honest by showcasing good from the same community. In this movie good exist only among Muslims and Christians.

Seriously ? You got it completely wrong friend! Saffron thread and tikka are not used here to give any bad communal angle. In my opinion , its the other way around ! Vishnu is introduced as a very likable and caring person in this movie ..The Tikka gives him an image of an innocent and pious Hindu young man. The director did not want us to have any slightest doubt about his goodness and any hints to the dubious evil character inside him..So Vishnu had to be presented with all the stereotypical characters of a likable Malayali young man. Its the same old trick used in many movies..

How is his attire relevant to the overall plot of the movie? There have been many antagonists in Indian cinema that wear the emblems of other religions as well. Do appreciate the movie as a whole instead of bringing up irrelevant details that have nothing to do with making a religious community seem villainous as a whole.

How exactly is one character (who happens to be a Hindu) displaying bad behavior representative of all Hindus? There are numerous movies with Muslims/Christians playing the role of villains while the protagonist is Hindu (take any old Lalettan film for example). That doesn't mean all Muslims/Christians are evil - the villain just happens to be from that community. Maybe you should reevaluate your biases before posting a ludicrous comment like this

I completely agree with you. Today, there's a huge trend in the Malayalam industry where Christians and Muslims are mostly portrayed in a good light whilst Hindus are portrayed as villains and evil people. At the outset, you can assume that it's just a movie, should be watched as a movie, and the religious artefacts are solely used to portray the man as a nice person. However, then why is only the evil person shown as a Hindu whilst everyone else as a Christian? This has to do with making the movie attractive to the rising Christian population in Kerala and its political agendas.

The story is relevant at all times. Excellent screen play and direction complimented the story. Acting was top notch. Anna Ben & Sreenath Basi nailed it with their performances. Roshan was also good. Overall a must watch movie with a relevant theme and excellent acting.

i'm not typically a fan of romance movies but i enjoyed this one a lot. seen a few of these actors in other movies and thought enough of their work to give this movie a shot, glad i did. enjoyed the performances, settings and storyline. songs were OK too. a must watch! 4/5

It’s a movie, don’t bring religion into it. This can happen to anyone. I loved the character they played. It’s a good acting especially villain. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Ppl can be nice and when it’s super nice there is always an ulterior motives. Regardless who it is. It’s a lesson to everyone especially youngsters.

excellent movie. However, the victim is christian and culprit is HIndu, producer is Muslim. director is muslim. Even though I dont like to bring religion here, I can very well say that the name chosen for jessies's lover is not innocent or coincidence. I think it is high time director understand that, this whole movie is what exactly happening with girls in kerala from a muslim guy rather than hindu guys. that is the fact.
