lovely depiction of human relations and a glimpse of old traditions: really engaging and great to watch without heros who always come save the day. Even better no portrayal of women in weak degrading roles or overly insulting modern characteristics

It was very good and actually showed the lifestyle in villages in India. It was very realistic and it was interesting to see that the story didn't get a happy ending. Very very very very good job.

Beautiful. Touching. Immaculate. Every now and then, a complex and possibly serious -but lesser known- issue get presented in such a mature yet lucid and relishing way...an art perfected by many of the tamil directors - some well established, while a few ace it pretty much right away. Thank you Anand Ravichandran! Eagerly waiting for more such classics.

Simply beautiful! Sometimes you don't need a great storyline, just a basic storyline and how it's told with great videography!

Heroin casually uses the four letter word, as if she is a foreign return! Instead, to match the character, chennai slang pesi irukkalam! :)

you would be surprised of how common the four letter word is in chennai's youth. i think it is genuine to the character.

A different kind of movie. Powerful insight into village life and a cultural practice that I was not previously aware of, Oppari. Film does have some genuinely funny moments, which helps offset the rather sombre subject matter. I was surprised to learn that this was the director's debut. A strong showing, and very unique subject matter. Timely glimpse into cultural practices that may not be around for many more generations. A movie as much for posterity as for entertainment, 4/5

This movie has captured the ethnicity beautifully. It starts of a bit slow, the first 15 mins and following that it is very engaging and lots of interesting characters, on the whole a movie to be watched and very good acting by the cast.

Great acting by the lead character Srilekha Rajendran as Krishnaveni. But I think Gabrella Sellus as Amudha also was very good. What a good movie.

This is true in my own life. The grand children of my parents all are getting a piece of the pie earned and kept for a long time, although they have been dead for more than 45 years now. Amazing! My wife bought some gold chains in India for my grand children after they sold my parents' property just last year.
