Not based on Tithi. Tithi is about the events surrounding the funeral of a 100 year old man and is a light hearted village story. This one is quite depressing. It's directly adapted from Premchand's Kafan. The movie makers have made it slightly more depressing. But it is unfortunately the real situation in many places in. Kafan is a short story.
