The director had mentioned in an interview that the people at the start of this movie, who the main characters in this movie were competing against and lost in the tug of war, were the real Manjummel Boys. And the reason the main characters lost and the real Manjummel Boys had won was because they had won in life by saving their friend's life. I think that was an amazing touch to this movie as well.
