An enjoyable watch, SAK is completely suited to the role, as she’s performed in previous roles where she’s been bold and sassy, probably her best film after Kedarnath. An intelligent script, well written and researched on the traumas suffered by orphans who’ve witnessed death. Songs were quite good too. Credit to SAK and Dhanush as both were very convincing. In truth AK’s role could have been played by anyone, clearly cast just to ensure the film was a box office success.

Who do you think else apart from akshay kumar could have been fit for the role?? nawazuddhin, salman khan, sharukh, Vicky kaushal,ranbir or ranveer , raj kumar rao, pankaj tripathi??? I think none of these, I think the cast is perfect. Anand L rai choose cast with perfection. May be Ajith kumar, Mahesh babu, chiyaan Vikram or Hritik Roshan may be fit. And these are equally suitable and brilliant actors as Akshay kumar. And fit for these roles.

It was a ‘non-role’, it was her relationship with her father that was important, not who played the role of the father. Hence, my opinion that it could have been played by any competent actor.

The major suspense was created because of Akshay Kumar. If it were played by just anyone, the hype this movie's trailer created couldn't have done that. It was because of him we all were convinced that, Akshay Kumar might have been Sara's love interest & not father till the very end. I hope this makes sense.. 🙂 The movie without Akshay Kumar would have been too predictable!

There are many other credible actors who could have played the leading roles for the female and male characters. I have seen immensely gifted stage actors who do not want to get into Bollywood as they see it as least challenging and also because they rarely get a chance to showcase their talent when family connections and names are more important. Even when you get in like Sushant singh rajput, they drop them when things get tough but not for the star kids.

Do you think all western movies are banned since they are riding horses. Horses are used everywhere for riding, including cops in NYC . What about horse race? In Africa elephants walk hundreds of miles for water and many elephants die due to starvation and thirst. Is this abuse of nature? Not sure where the abuse of elephant in this movie? Very nice movie . Lots of people nowadays they have mental disorders especially elderly people . I see them every day and took me a few days to understand as they were screaming at me in the hospital 🏥 or crying their lungs out and I was lucky enough that I am a quick learner and every day used to come home and google or read journals upon the disorders . Even kids can have them . That’s why is very vital to understand their trauma or sometimes it’s nearly impossible .

I didn't like Akshay Kumar's stupid acting in this movie. The plot is not very well connected. So many places it falls short why the movie is taking course in shown direction. Also, the movie is not convincing enough at many places, Dhanush just falls in love for no strong reason. Sara joining & teasing. Nothing new in the movie. There r better movies available with same concept. I wouldn't like to watch is again. I didn't like the 'Chaka Chaka' song's lyrics either.

Such an awesome story! The way it was directed was amazing. Dhanush was amazing- his expressions! His jokes were on point. Sara’s break through performance. She missed a few landing phrases- but she still did justice to the role. The storyline was great- the take home message was great

I agree 100% about dealing with mental illness. All other things to be taken into fun bollywood stuff. Indians are not exposed to mental illness due to ignorance. Bollywood also ignored this subject. Its great educational movie to handle a person with mental illness.

Absolutely love this movie! I’ll be honest Bollywood hasnt been releasing any good romance movies lately so I had little hope for this one but Dhanush deliveredd. The storyline was so sweet and fresh. The development of romance in the movie was so well done by Dhanush. A light yet intense romantic comedy for the new age x Easily my new fav movie.

The last, I went to Bharath was 2020 Feb and was a lock down the moment, we back to Singapore... took my parents to Kasi, then to Rameswaram and after that showed 40 over ancient temples in Tamil Nadu. The above looks like Karaikudi and I really miss going to all these places.

This is a weird movie. Starts well and the first 45 minutes is very engaging. But this whole concept of imagining her dead Dad as her boyfriend seemed very weird and has not been handled well. Dhanush shows his mettle. Sara like the film starts well but runs out of steam and sports the same set of expressions through most of the film. Akshay was miscast. Rahman's music is disappointing to say the least
