watchable, typical khurrana movie

Thought provoking movie for not just for Indians but everyone. A really good scripted movie with top acting from the cast. Ayushman again show what a versatile and talented actor he is like Amir Khan. Those actors propped up someone like Karan Johar need to take a lesson from actor with real acting skills.

Not having read about the film, I had no idea where it was heading until @ 12.10, I had an inkling. It’s a difficult all to sensitive subject the film explores, especially as the traditional patriarchal structure of Indian families is hidebound by family honour, respect in the community and a parochial view of marriage. Credit due to the writer/director for making a film that keeps you on tenterhooks till the end. Ending maybe as expected but it wouldn’t be the film you wanted otherwise. New found respect for AK after this film. Also self harming is a terrible scary affliction to witness.

This movie is woke garbage. Its influenced by western propaganda which makes a small minority suddenly a nation wide issue and now liberals in India are also doing shit like this. This movie shits all over Indian values and is just bad

Good movie and story!

Im from the Philippines, its a nice movie way to go ayushmann... I watch this movie it is because it is not because I support in promoting homosexuality, I wont. I view this movie because ayushmann khurrana is one of my favorite bollywood actors and vaani kapoor is HOT. and they are perfect couple, showing versatile talents. Im aware that this movie is about homosexuality and I consider this LGBT people as my brethren. I even against the DISCRIMINATION and HARSH TREATMENT against them. Its just the fact that I only oppose same sex marriage and same sex union. I dont and I wont....

Must Watch!!! To those who scream about indian values and family honour, go and get educated.

Pretty good movie. Got to give to Ayushman Khurunna for choosing such amazing storyline’s to act and somehow subjects which are kind of in the fringe of the society is shown in a new perspective that it tends to rightfully normalise it to some degree… good deal.

Is this an Indian movie?? If you see 30 years old western movie and a new one . you can't see much changes in culture and behavior but an Indian Movie ?? What a ugly khichdi/cocktail of culture.

I think this movie is about love which transcends all barriers.. When AK comes to know about VK being Trans he feels disgusted and cheated, he stays away from VK. But he has already fallen in love with her and people dont fall in love for just a hot body - he loves her personality, her attitude towards life and wants her company for life. Finally AK understands that he cant let go of VK, which makes him to reassess his thinking and he goes back to VK.

this is good movie on a very senstive topic. Ayushman pay really good. He is versatile and talented actor. After long time I saw good movie. Vanii Kapoor acting is also good. Overall this is good movie.

Wow, I honestly didn't know the amount of struggles a trans person has to go through just to be themselves :( Idk how realistic is it for a South Asian family to accept a trans person as their daughter/son-in-law. I don't think we are there yet. But at least this movie sheds light on this subject. And hopefully it will encourage acceptance and respect in our societies. I definitely felt it was educational. Cool movie, great performance and hopefully it'll make a difference.

Medical student here. I liked the movie. But trans women cannot get pregnant. They are infertile unless they have stored their sperm. How is that downplayed? In India, a woman not being fertile cannot be eligible for marriage at times. And many trans people can be attracted to either men or women or both. I highly doubt that the reconstructed vagina was as good as a natural one. He should have caught on. Also I don’t want to be pregnant either, it doesn’t make me less of a woman.

They just ended up being born in the wrong body- which is not their fault. Stop drowning in your conservative thoughts and grow up. This is the reality that we live in. All this "family honor and Indian values" nonsense doesn't apply to these real situations and is extremely suffocating. Let people live and learn to respect them as they are.

This movie is a about the current topic. A nice plan entertainment movie with a big message. World is changing and it has already come to India. I am very happy that someone have guts to present the current topic, even in advance country where I live, many don't appreciate & understand and always underestimate and ignore the reality of the humanity. Ayushman Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor have acted very well. Again, three thumps up!

What is this drama about wrong body. It is the mind that keeps changing not the body. What about gender reassignment surgeries gone wrong and people regretting the change. If a child can't accept their gender they need support around it not humiliating or insulting them but certainly not applauding a sex change. Body dysmorphia is a mental illness and needs support not a green signal to keep performing surgeries. Most laughable comment was "bhagwan ne galti kardi". If he's prone to making galtis why is he bhagwan. So we stop making him bhagwan and be our own little bhagwans!

Superb film about the life and struggles of transgender people in India. Amazing performances from Ayushmann and Vaani, great storyline, hope to see more films like this in the future.
