In what way is this hype real? Every bad person in the movie either happens to be a Kanadica or Tamilian or a Hindu angle is added, why? Also, young men in the movie are drunk, weed smoking, non working junkie but they are all very good people, really? What kinda society is this movie showing or promoting? As a movie, its so slow, so many logical mistakes, person who can jump or fly needs a passport, why? Music just didn't sit well..

When you make a movie show sober young folks and how all bad people are from the same region your primary audience is and we will watch. Movies don’t promote anything. If one thinks kids are doing something because of the movies, turning the xenophobic lens you used, the issue is likely at home ( parents etc) not the movies.

That said , it is interesting how over a couple of centuries (or maybe just in this movie if someone is offended by the inadvertant implication)they subtly changed the term “yakshi” to mean “vampire/ generally dangerous blood thirsty being” from the standard “benevolent” character in older Malayalam literature

Are you living under a rock my brother? Isnt weed legalised in Canada, are they all bad people there? If so, why tf are you there? Victim mentality can deter creative progress. I couldn't find any specific ethnic groups being targeted here. Sometimes it's just nice to appreciate indian cinema being experimental. This is one of the best sci-fi indian movie in recent times and if you're missing the point then watch a different genre. :)

hmmmm so we have to wait for the sequels??? .. Tovino Thomas, Dulquer Salman ... yet can't be bothered poor storyline and script....Kaliyankattu Neeli inspired by Dracula... odiyan.. yakshi, chaathaan.... finally end with the arrival of Ninja..... i think in the next sequel ninja turtle..kunfu panda...Darth Vader...star wars... hulk... robin hood..batman superman... james bond.. pokeman..doremon...tom and jerry .everyone will be there....utterly an useless movie..

This year I watched 2 movies which really had a good storyline and good scope but they ended up being a mediocre movie. One is Coolie from Tamil and another one is Lokah. Both movies ended up being strongly dependent on Cameos. One good thing about Lokah is, scenes are not as lame as in Coolie movie and for the budget of the movie, they have executed it very well. OVERALL LOKAH WAS BORING FOR ME, BUT DID NOT TEST MY PATIENCE AS COOLIE

as someone who genuinely likes movies on folklore, i really enjoyed it, this was my kind of interest!! Im only sad that i missed the theatre experience though, everyone’s performance was really good, the vfx and stunts were pretty good as well, its definitely worth the watch!
