Avoid seeing "Coolie" since it is a letdown. Rajinikanth's skill is wasted on needless violence and manufactured emotions in this movie, as it has been in many others in recent years. Anirudh's background music is just loud enough to permanently damage your eardrums. Bloodshed and noise are not worthy of the costly 200-crore film. The director Lokesh is a gibbering, empty vessel.

“Rajini is past the stage where his movies create the unstoppable hype they once did, even his prime and hype vanished but Coolie looks like an attempt at a comeback. The film is loaded with mass action and larger-than-life moments, though at times it feels excessive. Still, Rajini’s presence reminds fans why he’s called a superstar, even if the script doesn’t fully do justice to his legacy.”
