Only the very vague plot line that friends who are old & physically feeble went for trekking is similar. Other than that this movie is very different, lot deeper in meaning & the perspective plus the surroundings are very different. There's a Bendict Cumberbatch film where friends went for camping as one of them had terminal disease, & all of them figured out their life again in that journey. But nobody from UK or Hollywood claims that "A walk in the woods" is a remake of that movie, because it isn't.

This movie is about friendship, emotions and family. It has even funny moments. Great cast and performance. Always nice to see Mr Bachchan acting.

I have been on this trek as recently as October, 2022. Guides are not at all like as they have shown in this movie. They are more friendly and caring and will make sure even the slowest one is accompanied and not left behind. The scene on that hanging bridge definitely doesn't happen. Nepali people, esp. in that mountain region, are very considerate. And that trek, though exhausting, is exhilarating.

What a wonderful story with such realistic performances from everybody making it an adventure for us viewers. The scenic views captured takes you to a beautiful place on Mother Earth! The makers of this movie have sold this Trek to many I am sure - and I will not be surprised if more visitors flock to this place and try and experience this journey! Highly recommended movie!
