Most of the people who commented here are biased in their opinion as they take issue with her personal views and political views. I think as an actor she had done a wonderful job portraying Mrs. Indira Gandhi. As a director, story teller, and movie maker she still needs to work on those skills to make it compelling for the audience to not just admire her acting skills, and also enjoy the whole movie experience. Hope she does better in her next movie.

Whoever declared Srimathi Indra Gandhi's emergency to be a threat to freedom is now having a hard time getting by under the dictatorship of right-wing mafia Modi, paying the highest taxes in the world, and just watching as Modi's Gujarati friends receive a generous loan forgiveness of 16 lakh crore rupees and a tax forgiveness of 13 lakh crore rupees. Whatever be the state of the movies she has done last few years, Kangana has always been an excellent actress giving her all to the films. It's not the lack of effort that mars Emergency. Kangana dons too many hats and while individual sequences are nice, they all look a disjointed mess the way the screenplay unfolds. While Kangana manages to look like Indira, her expressions do not match the former PM. It looks like the prosthetics impact her performance negatively and her squeaky voice should have been dubbed. Its a total misfit
