Also regardless of religion says, homosexuality is only bad if it leads to sexually transmitted diseases and emotionally distressful behavior such as promiscuity. Controlled homosexuality without perversion is not a problem. There is a huge population increase in the world, having a few homosexual people shouldn’t cause a problem.

If a person wants to marry their cousin, and the religion they follow allows that to happen, then kindly, back off. Whether it's a problem or not, is none of your concern. It's not YOUR problem. Speaking of homosexuality, sure islam doesn't allow it, but it doesn't allow discriminatory behavior against homosexuals either. It does not allow muslims to harm them in any way.

Aar j, humans are not the only living creatures in the world. I am agreed with you inbreeding causes abnormalities only when if both members carry the same (mutated) traits. Inbreeding is good practice to maintain the same traits from one generation next generation. Especially in animals and plants, inbreeding is the most common practice to maintain the uniformity of superior genes.

There are plenty of papers and articles online that prove that the Pakistani immigrant community in many countries have the highest rates of congenital physical disabilities, as well as behavioral and mental health problems among consanguineous offspring. Delightful movie made on a complex subject. Very nice light hearted moments but at the same time brings lump to your heart thinking about social pressure and acceptance of gay and lesbian in India. Very well acted and directed. Want to also add- it has excellent music

You just know this film will have the bigots crawling out of the woodwork frothing at the mouth. This is a subject that deserves airing, recognition and acceptance. As for the film, the women carry it, they have most of the screen time and provide the best laughs. As good as RR is, BP and Sheeba Chaddha are even better. Towards the end, the film does well to convey the anguish, loneliness and despair of those trapped by familial pressure into hiding their true feelings and it does get quite emotional when they finally reveal their feelings. Sadly I think many may give up as it is a long film

You are so right. Before I started work, I was a bit ignorant regarding the LGBT issues as it did not effect me. At my work place there were senior people who were gay and lesbians and they opened my eye to the suffering some of them had gone through akin to discrimination based on darker skin or disability. I love how the LGBT community is fighting back with education and new rules to reducing discrimination.

There might be better movies than this one, there might be movies that address LGBT issues better- but every movie that is made normalizes it just a bit more. Growing up, my mom would see ads where the husbands would help their wives with household chores & say, that doesn't happen. Some men would mock those men in the ads. Now, we all shoulder our share of chores at home. With movies like this one, Shubh Mangal, Ek Ladki ko, etc, there will be people who'll vomit their hatred and bigotry, but there will also be those that will look at the issue with a renewed perspective. That matters.

Even straight people have the pressure of having a baby problem. I told my parents and the people I date that I do not want biological children. What a fine movie and Rajkumar Rao & Bhumi Pednekar are again a very fine pair and they have truely acted very well. The story line is very different and I salute the director Harshavardhan who has exploited the current topic and directed very well. Kudos for a nice movie and must watch movie !

I don't know if the cast was actually lgbt+ but to me this is one of the best indian lgbt+ representation i've seen in a movie. As a queer person i do feel like this movie was also made for us and not just for non queer people's entertainment although some scenes were hard to watch. I think I still have to wait until indian cinema gives me light-hearted queer action, romance, etc. movies not centering on queerphobia and triggering themes. Trigger Warnings for those who haven't watched it yet : lgbt+phobia, lesbophobic s* harassment at the beginning, comphet situations, sexism
