One of the best thrillers in a while. What starts as a lame story develops into something bigger and unexpected. Awesome performances from everyone. I had some goosebump moments. And even clapped in one of the scene. Those who watched the movie will know which scene it is. :)

Amazing movie! First you watch it because of the proceedings. Second / third time you will watch to answer your own questions :) Super engaging movie. VJS as usual has no match. During the movie promotions they should have told to get Notebook / Pen to take notes while watching. So, much processing to do after finishing the movie.

Excellently narrated, well written and gripping story. It is an excellent thriller masking as comedy. Tamil films quality has vastly improved over the past few years. VJS is excellent. Movie shot in a way that makes it difficult to guess where it is all heading. Great direction.

he only said that because, that way the police would investigate. He keeps saying lakshmi is stolen, when in reality it was his daughter's own precious life was almost stolen. Later in the movie you can see lakshmi underneath the bed of where Maharaja's daughter rests.

The dustbin was originally was in Selvam's home (Anurag Kashyap). After he was arrested, his wife Kokila (Abirami) is living alone with her child. When Maharaja (VJ) visits her she gets killed by an accident but the baby is saved by the dustbin in Kokila's home. Maharaja takes the dustbin and worships as God as it saved the baby. hope this explains.

Pooja, there is no confusion about dustbin. It belonged to Selvam's house..So Abirami carried it with her after Selvam went to jail. When Vijay Sethupathi and his wife visited Abirami, accident happened..and dustbin saved the baby..

Honestly probably the best movie yet this year. The non-linear story line was everything and kept us on the edge of our seats. Although a very simple premise, the story telling was engaging, humorous and thought-provoking. The film grapples with 2 dads that love their daughter very much but have different disciplines. The parallels between a how women and dustbins are perceived is portrayed well and clear. It also shows the complexities of where people find excuses to act badly and reason them with some twisted logic.

The movie however wastes the potential of casts like Divya Bharthi, Mamta and Abhirami, PL Thenappan and Bharathiraja. I think they were just there for building the credibility of the movie on posters, rather than adding value to the story.

They are not Centric characters for the story, Many scenes for them will deviate the Gripping screenplay which the Film was. I would rather say it has perfectly used all the characters.. Nallasivam character was well written & interesting & he did a good job..

Simply my opinion: Well, Ending is good. Rest was just alright. Screen play could have been better. Slow narration. Vijay can still have lot of juice. But not sure this director got the right plot. After watching Vikram-Veda, 96 etc. this movie is definitely did not live up to this so called online/social media hype. Vijay is a great actor. Directors like Bala, Vetrimaaran etc. can extract quality work from him.

Yes! I'm surprised no one is talking about this. While the screenplay is excellent, it was literally traumatizing to see SA scenes (especially child abuse) being used to advance the plot. They took it too far by showing the guy going in twice. Too disturbed at that point to fully invest in the rest of the movie.

I wonder why Tamil movies are not making without Ra...........e scene. each and every movies are about child or women abusing. This should have changed. Good non-linear storytelling, though I'm not sure how after 15 years Sethupathi (Maharaja) is still wearing a pad on his head. My main issue is with the sensationalising of rape, sexual violence, etc. it's becoming far too common in South Asian movies just to advance the plot or for a male hero to look even more heroic. Female victimhood should really only be a thing in movies if it's to challenge said topic. Normally I would sigh and click off but stayed for Sethupathi.
