With hitherto unknown artistes barring Samuthirakani and Kathir, presenting this serious plot without any flaw reflects the skill of the director. As usual, Samuthirakani excels in his acting while playing his role as a dutiful son. Some scenes will leave a very deep impression in our minds by realizing the fact that the course of one's life might change to the worst anytime.

I grew up in a city and my husband is from a village. In Tamil cinema villagers are often portrayed as the innocent souls. But naan paartha perumpalaana kramathu sonthangal, Potti, Poramai, Vanjagam, ematruthal, krotham, ellam velipadaiyaga express pannuvaargal. En mamanaar (uneducated), magalai petravar enra orae kaaranthirkaaga, en Appa (he was a director of research that time) velai seitha office padi yeri sandai pottu vittu vanthar. I regretted being a girl that day. This movie further confirms how cruel and backward most this crowd is. The sad point is they think the otherwise.
