Hardly one time watchable. Mammootty looks too old for his role.It's evident in the movie that he's struggling to walk, run, and perform the action sequences. He looks old and unhealthy.

You are right. This movie has 60% of the story and scenes same as Kuttavum Shikshayum. When I was seeing the movie I was trying to recall the Original movie and search and could not find. Thanks for asking this question. I am able to recall now.

Brother, this is a police thriller based on real events like in theeran. It's an investigation thriller. Cops investigate a case in the same manner in real life which is why you feel like it's a ripoff. The cases are clearly different. There's no overhype.
