Gran Torino came to mind whilst watching this film , though it does have a slightly different approach at the end. Nevertheless, it's about a man who prefers to live his life in solitude except for his brief interactions with his work colleagues. The film is slow, melancholy, the music haunting and it's set in the sort of tenements inhabited by millions of low income families. Manoj Bajpayee who I think is a talented actor convincingly plays the part of a reclusive policeman nearing retirement. Loved the comedic roles he's played in the past but here he shows his seriousness and his talent.
