People who are not use to watching malayalam story movies might find this movie slow moving. In Tamil very rarely they take these kind of movies. Good performance and background.

Very nice movie. After a long time watched a great melodrama in Tamil. I felt so bad for both Ram and Janu :( felt even sad if it was a real life, how both of them can lead their life after learning that they both truly love each other ;-(

Great movie with gripping love story and superb acting

Loved it.

That was a very interesting movie. I normally don't see Vijay as a typical star or hero, but I have to admit, his performance was excellent in this movie. Trisha was also awesome. I recommend this movie for a different style of a romance movie.

Story line is unusual for a Tamil film. All actors both the school days and the adult roles played their part well, particularly VSP.

One of the real life story like movie. From the beginning to the end just absorbed with the movie. Yes, this is a must watch movie. Very good photography, selection of spots and angles of photography very commendable. Story and direction excellent. Vijay Sethupathi, Thrisha and all the young artists performed their role very well.

This movie has shown how a girl is special to boy in a beautiful way. Watching alone now My heart feels heavy as it made me to remember my first love even i married to another girl. Even after marriage I sometime think of my love, even time passed it is always a cheerished memory...a good portrait ..This is one of movies noted in my list like Guna, Autograph, devdas, 96 which has to be watched alone.. ! .. A Master piece by the Director and Writer. Great Acting by Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha and everyone. Music was great and carefully done. These are the kind of movies we need to make. I have seen Vijay S movies, but this was his best. Eveyone has their opinions and all of us are different. I will stop here.

This is one awesome movie! There is some comedy too in this movie. Loved performance by both Trisha and Vijay. Gouri who has played the role of Younger Jaanu is very talented.

wow - this is one well made BAD - seriously BAD movie - i am still scratching my head trying to figure this $hit out - its almost comical - so in the beginning the hero is messed up and in the end both of em are messed up - the school scenes are ok - but watching the movie i could'nt help but wonder where it was heading - no closure for either character - was hoping both of em would get run over by a truck while they were walking on the streets WTH - it will be a while before i watch this kind of shit - go watch "before sunrise" it is much better

Great movie and will remain a master piece in indian cinema. Trisha acting is superb and it can be played by her only. Vijay sethupati is great as usual.

Awesome Movie!!

This is not a simply movie. It is a sculpture by a sculptor called director. You really need bravery and brain to create such a wonderful pokkisham (ornament). Kudos to Sedhupathi & Trisha for acting in this movie. The music director is such an innovator and movies like this need to be preserved in classics. Proud of my Tamil cinema and this movie is an example of how expressions, cinematography along with background scores can run a screen play with less dialogues.

Many places no dialogues but only with camera and musical score in the background, I got tears. How can they give such an impact, is called brilliance. Need such kinda movies and Tamil cinema fans should make it.

Vijay Sethupathi's best performance yet. Trisha's all time best so far. Hats off to Prem Kumar. We need more movies like this in Tamil Cinema. Subtle, strong, moves even a heart made of rock.

Good Nastalgia

Excellent movie. Very unusual for a Tamil movie to be slow moving. Both Vijay and Trisha have acted very well. Great depiction of emotions.

It’s bit slow and sad movie but if you have the patience for it, it will leave you with all kinds of mixed emotions. It’s good movie and very sensibley made but probably not everyone’s cup of tea.

Excellent work of art, on how to portray love without even a tinge of lust. Great inputs from Prem, Govind, Vijay, and Trisha. Thank you Einthusan team.

Wow! Excellent in all aspects. Superb performances by all actors. Unconditional, unselfish, powerful, pure love. So many silent words were spoken just through their eyes!! This movie stirred my emotions. How do people live like this? It’s painful! There must be so many ‘Ram’ & ‘Janu’ out there...! But life goes on...!
