Wow, I cannot believe how cheaper the mentality is getting or can we say the ego is getting bigger. May the Lord grant them some sensibility. I almost said infact the first thing that comes to mind is may they rot in hell but then I would be in the same category, hatred can only be won by love and prayers. I pray their minds get transformed.

The subject was powerful, however the acting seemed stupid. Deepika didn't do well in this character. Overall, the movie didn't cut the edge for me. If the actors and actresses had made it more realistic, it would've been really good like Mardaani 2. The only difference is that in this one, it loses the seriousness in scenes. Like what was the last scene even about (the wedding acid)?? Mardaani 2 however took an important topic and made it powerful and more serious.

What a fabulous film, so well made, some of the scenes are heartbreaking. Deepika has done a superb job. The audience in India still does not want to see raw reality and look at it in the eyes, otherwise this should have been a huge hit and a film all young people should watch as part of education.

What the heck is going on in India...or I should say, with some Indian males that they feel the need to rape and or pour acid on women? I mean, what kind of sick mentality is that? In this modern world? Why would a person degrade themselves to such level of inhumane? They make the world look down on India...and the Indian government is doing nothing about these case? Wow! ....and for those of you commentators saying Deepika's acting was bad, I have a question for you...how would you prefer she had acted (or I should say, how would you prefer her to overacted?)?

Something was amiss, not so good script or non-impactful acting, Don't know. what? Didn't somehow touch the chord! Yes, Laxmi's Ted talk was more impactful than the movie!

It has became shittiest movie ever because of Deepika not because of the real story. Deepika is utter bakwas nonsense.

About time someone tackled this subject. The only odd note is when they try to show Deepika as a school girl. This was based on a school girl's story. The sad part is that acid attacks have increased. Still - this is agood movie to raise awareness about this issue.

Deepika is an amazing actress. She has done a fabulous job!!!

Its a good film and its hard t believe that those things are happening still in India or Pakistan.

Acid attacks are common in India for mainly one reason: Male sexual frustration!!! As we all know, most beautiful and smartest girls are found in the main big cities of India... and the male gender, on the contrary are rather plain looking,...i.e. they are worth a second look when you come across them on the street....this, inevitably, results in a sort of GENDER JEALOUSY, which immensely disturbs the male ego...things get worse when the guy tries to win the attention of the girl and he is rejected....

What a fab movie...the story tackles a very sensitive subject in India where beauty is considered equivalent to a dowry if a girl is not pretty! Kudos to Deepika on her performance. And if they add a bit of romance to show that some people are stronger and come out of these experiences bolder and braver..then so what? Does anybody remember Erin Brockovich? Did the real Erin look as beautiful as Julia Roberts? It made no sense and yet the movie was a runaway hit!

i realize this is a story to be told, but as a movie this is not well made at all. You could predict everything 5 minutes ahead of time. Bad screenplay and direction. Do watch another movie made on similar subject 'Uyare'

But, after the garbage that a certain ____ pulled 2 publicize this horrible "movie" (i shudder 2 call it that), poverty-porn waalon ko allah se upar ka darjah dena hee padega. Hur jumma namaz allah se nhi, poverty-porn waalon se karna hoga. To those ___ who don't know urdu: after watching this movie, even religious momin will want to pray to makers of poverty-porn movies (as they are far more respectable than allah himself). After reading all your comments, I decided to watch the movie. It is a very important issue and I cannot believe we Indians still resort to such a cowardly act toward women. Yet at the same time, I do agree that the acting was sub standard and another actress could have done the main role. Either way, this issue is apparently close to Deepika's heart as she also produced the movie. Eventually, if this can spread awareness among India's youth, the movie will be worth it.
