This is based on a Japanese Novel called 'the devotion of suspect x', I have watched the korean version of this and this is not a remake of that movie, this is probably closer to the original novel and is fantastically adapted in hindi. If this went to theatres the mass brained audience might have ignored it, glad it went straight to ott so more people will actually discover it. Must watch

I recently watched this movie after a long hiatus, and I must say it was a refreshing experience. The standout performances by Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Vermaa were truly exceptional.Their role added depth and authenticity to the film, making it a memorable cinematic experience.

Can someone explain the end its confusing, why did teacher take the blame and called maya the murderer in the police jail??? And why did teacher cry, so he gave up on the love he had for maya??

Simply a brilliant movie. Sure a must-watch it has a great storyline- an intense and gripping couple complemented by superb acting by the entire cast. Kudos to director Sujoy Ghosh.

Bollywood should be renamed to remake-wood or Dubbing wood. Absolutely no creativity left with Bollywood! All bollywood movies are either remake of south movies if not it is bits & pieces stiched together from different hollywood movies. Now this Japanese book inspiration...There are no writers in bollywood!

If he was really math genius, the story would have been over in 30 minutes. He took blame for nothing. lol. 1. Take his mobile and call to some travel agency in New Delhi and talk about going to Bangkok or South africa. 2. Then put the phone in truck going towards Delhi or Mumbai. 3. Dispose the body using acid (refer Breaking Bad). 4. Wife will tell cops that he wanted to take them out of India, she refused because of his bad nature. 5. He needed money (which she gave).

Why couldn't they just tell the police that he was adducting the daughter into prostitution and it was a domestic problem? Sometimes the answers are easier than this over-complication.

This is probably among the best directed Hindi movies ever and the screenplay is just brilliant. The scene where the teacher gets his focus back (solely) on to Mrs DZousa after his mind wavers with jealousy - after seeing her with the policeman at the Karoake bar - with some jijutsu is amongst the best scenes visually executed in Hindi cinema. People who have commented that the climax does not make sense unfortunately do not have the maturity to understand the nuanced ending.
