Deepika nailed her role. But directing wasn't as expected from Mr. Bhansali. I think he went too commercial and left the passion.

Sometimes I hate Shakespeare for writing that ending... even when I knew what was going to happen, I prayed that Bansali might go another way. I loved this version.

Storyline is crap. But art direction, songs, dances, and some cheap jokes makes the movie very entertaining. That's why I watch Bollywood movie most of the time anyways. :)

SLB have done a great job. There wouldn't have been a great remake of the Romeo and Juliet than this. The flow of the story was great. Perfect casting .

The only movie I liked watching Deepika in and Love Aaj Kal. Rest of the movies she looks stiff. Ranveer keep up the good work!

Felt the doomed lovers/politics film was already done better in Ishaqzaade. Pairing felt more forced than Bhansali's previous films, Aish-Salman and SRK-Aish. Always great sets!

Epic story, epic couple, loved it!

Indians do the Romeo and Juliet story better than anyone else and this is one of the better Indian versions! Thanks mostly to the stars/characters, cinematography, costumes, dances, dialog and direction/choreography. Deepika Padukone is a fearless and fierce Juliet against Ranveer Singh's romantic and emotion charged Romeo - great chemistry!

Excellent film. Romantic tragedy done in Bollywood style. This film was emotionally draining and very entertaining, The singing, dancing, costumes and music were perfect. At times it got confusing as to who belonged to which family but it did not take away from the story. The only thing that messed me up was : the tone of the film felt traditional, not a today modern film; yet, they had modern smart cell phones. They felt out of place. Other than that a wonderful theatrical drama. No tissues needed for this one. I would consider this a Classic.
