honestly this movie did not age well, to be fair some scene were mass and some scene were just not it. The scene were vijay was running and there was 10 people shooting him, just looked stupid looked like the scene was taken in 2000s were physics didnt exist in movies. Tbh this movie is utter shit and will go down as one of Vijay worst movies, Nelson did him dirty. As for music, bgm dance and music video were good.

I sincerely tried for 45 minutes. Then the law of reversed effect started to work. The harder I tried the more difficult it was to watch. The plot was weak to start with, then the sagging screenplay. Sprinkles of comic character proved very mild reprieve. Pooja Hegde was just an appendage. How Vijay got sold on this, I can't imagine. The Mall set initially seemed good but closer look in individual shots showed lack of depth in creative art. Nevertheless some marks for that. Overall tough proposition. Sucks!

Finally a different movie from Thalapathy. Not that usual type of movies. It’s pretty obvious looking at those reviewers that, they simply can’t accept to see Thalapathy acting in such roles. For those who are looking for logics while watching movies should stop watching movies. To those who wants to watch the movie, leave those negative reviews in the trash and enjoy this. A decent paced movie, with good laugh, good songs & great action sequences with bgm.

Actually, the pacing was garbage, the characters had barely any arc or development. The opening segment up until vijay going to a therapist was one of the greatest thalapathy opening. I wish his "trauma" segment was something more than a cheap gimmick to establish that our hero cares about kids.

The gun that Vijay is using is a shotgun. Shotgun shells send multiple pellets as projectiles. In the film, it is shown to fire a single projectile which happens only in rifles. The climax is a total BS. I feel for any professional pilot watch who is going to watch the climax. Missiles are not meant for collision. The fuse in the missile gets activated as soon as it nears the aircraft or other missile.

I was big fan of Vijay, but this movie is like children cartoon and some chines' movie. They fly over mountain and ocean. Nothing in this movie is realistic and logically. This movie have overtaken all of Balakrishna and Vijayakanth movies..... Combined...... Veera Raghavan is a Indian James Bond/RAW agent/Sukhoi MK30 pilot/skating legend. Oh god why didn't we have such movies in the past. We could have avoided seeing all James bond series, Top gun movies, Fast and Furious series, Money Heist.... All in one movie... Glad that I did not waste my money watching this is in a theatre- This is ok for an OTP experience. Nelson's genre of dark comedy just does not work with the star charisma of Vijay- although both are great in their own capacities. A weak script, thin storyline, over the top action scenes and some bad acting( who was the guy who played the Minister?) diluted the movie and lost our attention. Nelson is better off working with the likes of Siva Karthikeyan and Nayantara and his staple crew of comedians

IMO it is a decent one time watch, obviously not a typical Vijay movie that most expect. The BGM was a strong point for this movie. At least it is not like the over the top masala movies like kuruvi, sura, bhairava et al. Probable reason for the dislike of this movie is because of it did not meet the expectations of most. The first seven minutes seemed to be a fresh start (despite the immune to bullet setup) but from then onward, a massive disappointment. Not to compare with Thuppakki but really hoped that with such a grounded setting, Nelson could have really delivered a fun romp, but rather it came out like Thuppakki - Puli/Sura version. Vijay has done great in action sequences, but really wish he could move out of his old zone and explore uncharted territory. A below-average entertainer altogether.

Even though i amn't a Tamilian, have watched many movies of different actors and genres in Tamil. This movie is literally disappointing from Vijay. He shouldn't have accepted this role to be honest. Still need to watch the rest but so far the movie is the best and superhit movie. It is about a noble man who works as a spy to protect civilians from terrorism and along the way unintentionally causes the death of a small girl and as a result suffers from depression for 11 months and then finds the strength to keep going to complete a another serious mission regarding terrorism taking place in a shopping mall. This movie is a very great example of doing a great deed for the country which everyone should learn.

The only thing good about this movie was probably the action and the songs. Everything else we knew like how Vijay is going to save everyone. Mersal and bigil and master were way better than this. This is not the worst movie ever, but it had some things that made me excited.

Honestly I would give this movie 5/10. The story line was good in its own way. By why does it feel like the movie Doctor (Sivakarthikeyan movie) using a good amount of characters there, and Vijay's acting was just similar too Sivakarthikeyan. The feel for it was just the same. Honestly no joke this movie could have been a super big hit making it a 2 part movie with better scripting and acting. The hostages were so quiet and just sat there like robots. Personally it could have done alot better with some extra cast rather than Vijay acting solo.

honestly this movie did not age well, to be fair some scene were mass and some scene were just not it. The scene were vijay was running and there was 10 people shooting him, just looked stupid looked like the scene was taken in 2000s were physics didnt exist in movies. To be very honest. This is one of the worst nightmare movies for a actor like Vijay. A star actor like him should choose the script responsibly. This story is way to outdated. Hell lot of logic mistakes are present. Nelson stop killing people with such kind of script. Nelson please spend time on story and screen play. A super thrill movie. The end fighter jet scenes are, I believe the first time in Indian cinema that sure would have mesmerised the audience- sorry I might have not seen other language movies if it had been. Very different theme, i.e., comedy amidst serious action. THALABATHI never fails to entertain. A should watch in the theatres! --Boo yo nay-sayers!--

Horrible movie. I am big Thalapathy fan, but this movie was terrible. Premise was great, fresh idea for Thalapathy, and I really liked the concept. However writing is awful. Movie didn't know when to be comedic vs serious, and comedy is poorly placed in almost all instances. Worst is that the entire 2nd half of the movie happened bc mr. security man opens his mouth and talks. Poor, lazy writing designed to extend the movie's runtime. IMO all the comedy should have been designated to before and after the mall only, and the entire movie section within the mall should have been serious only.

I think some of the reviews are a little harsh: Overall the movie was entertaining, although the story was simple w/ a few loopholes (but hey not every movie has to have plot twists and loopholes exist in a lot of movies), I watch a movie for enjoyment and it did that well. Some of the best action scenes in any Tamil movie, great scenes with guns and CGI of the flights were Hollywood level. Only thing was that Vijay was too overpowered and seems to be able to dodge every bullet. I liked the comedy style and thought it fit well, and feel that this movie should be seen as a action-COMEDY movie.

Let me put a note in the beginning, I am not a hard core fan of Vijay. Ignore all the -ve comments about Vijay acting in this movie, this, that etc etc. He did an awesome job of moving the entire movie on his shoulders. Honestly, he was under utilized by the director. Screen play could have been better in few places but that is okay no one would notice it, comedy track is not needed at all, Vijay has an excellent comedy sense. Pooja H has done the role given to her, so forget about -ve comments as well. Definitely a one or two time watchable movie with the family.

You guys really don’t understand the movie .. Vijay is a mutant who can defy gravity, time and space. That’s why none of those bullets are hitting him even though tons of very experienced terrorists are shooting at him. his love for children is the only weakness he has to control his alter ego BEAST . The Main Bad guys is so scary , he is also a mutant , his power are asking and begging for what he want .. asking questions is the most scary thing the bad guys did in the movie .

As long as Vijay sir has his loyal fan base... We can expect this kind of movies. If nelson had directed this movie completely, it would have been better like Doctor. I guess Vijay sir wanted Kuttu song and mass Masala scenes like car driving inside mall, Firing 1.5 ton bullets at him, skating, jet fight scenes, which led to the disaster. I blame the actor for this disaster not the director.

These years where we get 1 movie per year from biggest actors normally, the one highlight of the year is the movie release. Beast is not a dissapointing movie for me, after watching the trailer. They clearly gave an idea about the movie in the trailer. If other's do not like it it's fine, we don't all share the same taste. Let those who enjoys the movie enjoy it, and those who hates the movie, find something else to do.

Same format of Nelson is carried over in this movie as well. But all the characters are trying to be neutral and funny is not acceptable. Might have focused more in screenplay and action sequences. Scenes are not matching for the occasions and irritating in most of the places. Better luck next time. Still "Thuppakki" remains as good one for Vijay. So, Beast is not completely Waste, still his fans can watch.

Vijay's Performance, his screen presence and acting was excellent. BGM was very good and supported the movie very well. Negatives Villain face was covered with Mask - His facial expressions fully suppressed and not provided any impact to his character. Mediator - could have selected some other artists than Selvaragavan For Comedy, the psychiatric doctor could have included in Mall. Comedies from Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh all worst. Heroine could have shown smart as well

I don't understand why a movie like Beast would get a lower rating while KGF Chapter 2 gets such high ratings. I feel they are both similar in many aspects (overly hero-centric, poor character development, lack of emotional anchors, stunts that defy reality, logical flaws etc). While KGF has great cinematography, Beast has dark humor. KGF tried and failed at creating emotional moments. Beast doesn't even try in that regard. I think Beast is more entertaining while KGF is dark. Both deserve similar rating, IMHO.

Beast has dark humor? KGF tried and failed at creating emotional moments? No sure what you are talking about. There is no screenplay in Beast. Even Vijay Sir own father accepted that. Logical flaws are there in every movie but question is whether its believable or not. Beast utterly fails in many scenes, especially in the climax. No screenplay puts you to sleep after 20 minutes of the movie. On the other hand KGF was appreciated by each and every one including biggies like Director Shankar, Kamal Hassan, Rajani, Surya, Karthi, and most importantly even die hard Vijay fans.

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Not the best movie Vijay has made but it's also not a terrible movie. That's my opinion. Vijay movies don't hit the same anymore. Beast has too much violence, the storytelling is bad and unrealistic and Vijay has no emotions, he's like a talking robot made for the mass effect. Beast was made for vijay fans because this is a movie most of us non vijay fans will never watch again. Master at least had vijay sethupathi for comedic effect, whatever comedy this had falled incredibly flat. overall this would get a 1,5/5 from me.

This movie contained action and violence, that is for sure. It did include a bit of thrill too. However, the comedy went in the wrong scenes and so did the songs. In addition to this, scenes and had only one main point, instead of many. Regardless, still a decent action movie, but this is one of Vijay's most violent and worst Movies. My Rating : 3.1/5
