Epic comeback by Thalaivar!! Hoping for Petta 2 and Vijay Sethupathi to be the main villain this time!!

Quite easily the WORST Tamil film I have ever seen. Horrendous hero worship, hero wins all, worst cinematography of all time with reddish-yellow lighting everywhere (just because Mani Ratnam had done it scores of years ago), horrible music, bizarre logic, absolutely ridiculous bad guys always losing to the great hero, pathetic acting and the worst possible screenplay and dialogues. I don't know how some idiots watched this film in the the theater and said it was a good film.

Again...fools talking negatively do not listen...this is a good-commercial mass flick! THALAIVAA!

Rajini's role is a total bad ass i loved this film except for the flash back part, it was a bit lag and kind of confusing. but a good movie,rajini sir killed it. still waiting for 2.0, thank you for petta and viswasam..

Dabba Padam.. Wasting Thalaivar, VJS, Nawaz, Trisha. Movie made for 10-12 year old kids and retarded adults... Thalaivar legacy damaged by piss poor plots.. Thalaivar is more than just syle. All thalaivar's yester movies used to have a bedrock storyline and thalaivar's mass style enhanced it to an extraordinary level. However such is the impact of his successful style that directors are mistakenly blinded by it and are making movies with zero regards to plots... Very poor movie despite Thalaivar's mass performance. .. Imagine a movie like KGF with thalaivar..

One of the worst movies of recent times. I don't know which century these people including Rajini, the director, and the other actors live. This kind of movies will not ever allow society to change and improve. A piece of a shitty story and they could find producer too just because of a well-known actor's involvement. First half is okay, second half is boring

Very disappointed with the movie ! Karthik Subbaraj movies are generally good story lines. But this movie lacks storey lines, putting all big stars was waste. The movie started good but just after mid went down hill. Starting was similar to ajith Aegan. couldve been better. Rajni looks and style was really good. The movie didnt sink in. one time watch only!!!!!!

100% Rajini film , don't complain like Trisha, simran , VJS , nawaz didn't get good roles etc. This was a tribute to Rajini by his fan, people who were missing Rajini of old since Sivaji will enjoy. Also good twists, maybe some say second half is slow, I saw in theater and enjoyed. Its fine if you don't like the film but its idiotic to go to a fish market and complain you can't find fruits. Good movie. All the actors and actresses did a great job.

I liked this more than I expected. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending though. It's not bad and I don't know how, but I somehow feel like it could have ended differently. What I learned from this movie is that I want someone to make a movie where Vijay Sethupathi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui really get to go head to head. I didn't know until I saw them together on screen that that's what I really, really want. Imo they are two of the best actors in india. They didn't quite get to show their acting chops here, but since it's Rajinikanth's movie that's sort of understandable.

Not me crying when the onions were being chopped on the screen .

Love the movie, but the ending is kind of sad. Jittu could have been his own son that survived the blast. Since he turned to be good, Petta could have just let him live :(

Strictly for Rajini fans! When will this 70 year old Rajini stop playing the invincible macho hero romancing heroines half his age? Why cant he play dignified roles like Amitabh Bachchan that lines up with his age? Only tried to watch because of the extensive star cast of Simran, Trisha, VJS, Nawazuddin etc. but all of them had miniscule parts!
