In a nutshell, this is a smouldering noir murder mystery with romance. A little slow but feels like I watched an Alfred Hitchcock movie in Tamil.

Merry Christmas is one of the best romantic thrillers of recent times. Romance is understated, thriller is done well and subtle. I have watched the film 4 times (once in Tamil on big screen and thrice in Hindi on netflix) and all the dots are connected without spoon-feeding. And the chemistry between Katrina and Sethupathi is awesome.  The music songs especially Anbe Vidai and Kanadha Kathal are on my list and playing non-stop for 2 months still it hasnt been old.
