What an amazing and mesmerizing movie! I saw this movie 7 times and still not tired of it. I'm 70 years old and watch 2 movies every day as my hobby. Nani turns in a superb performance. The nebulous and intricate feelings of love are portrayed subtly, but emphatically in this adorable film. A great production with a gripping story, screen play and cinematography. The director deserves tons of credit. Well done, indeed!!

Based on Gita Verses, late Tamil Lyricist wrote that "Maanidar Aanmaa Maranam Eythadhu, Marubadi Piranthirukkum". May be this movie's story is based on this philosophy. We can also say that Shyam's life was cut short due to family conspiracy, and he did not fulfill this dream, he was born again. We should also appreciate the similar social reforms spread during early 1930-50's in Tamil Nadu by leaders like EVR, CNA, Karunanidhi and others.
