A great movie. I watched it several times. Vidya Balan is great, But later I watched the Meena Kumari version and realised that the Meena Kumari Version is a Master piece. Set in the correct period as the story with a dazzling performance all round. I think Meena Kumari is the greatest. I wish the Hndi world colourise this version .Telugu world colourised Maya Bazaar.

A mix of Devdas and rich man's son. All the actors played their roles to perfection but Vidya stole the show of course with her simplicity. I feel she is the ideal person to take Jaya Bhaduri B's place. Saif and Sanjay also played their parts very well. Good movie to watch. From the comments below, I am going to watch Meena Kumari's movie too, just to compare performances and how the plot moved in that movie.

I love Vidya Balan's character in this but Shekhar is awful and he did not deserve to end up with her.
