Nice movie. Reminded me of the love triangles of yesteryears without eliminating one of the three. Even the songs are old-fashioned without any Sufi or techno influence.

Can't believe it's PC 10 yrs ago. Didn't like music. Speaking Hindi in US city to business crowd? Not great acting. Was billed as Sweet Home Alabama but isn't at all. Liked it tho

Wrote my reveiw too soon, before 1/2 the movie, before PC showed up. It gets better then; she is just so good. Can now see a few similarities with Sweet Home Alabama. PC shine on.

Music was nice in the movie, just didn't like that rap fusion with Indian music when he was in US. Subtitles gone in the last 10 minutes of the movie but not that crucial to ending

Questionable values - to jump into a river is just stupid, but it’s depicted as heroism - although the heroine risks her life for her love she needs to make up and learn English to be good enough - stupid dialogue that makes no sense at all. This movie basically tells you that it’s ok to disobey your parents and risk your life because it will all go well in the end. I was disappointed and quite shocked by the morals of this praised cult movie considering that it’s from the 40’s

The movie doesn’t tell you to ‘do’ anything, merely it displays a story and consequences. Risking your life to save someone ‘is’ heroism. In fact that’s pretty much the definition. And just because you can’t understand the dialogue, that doesn’t make it stupid.
