Balachander is one of the greatest of all time. Tamil audience should appreciate how middle-class, adult relationships are handled in his movies. Paarthale Paravasam is actually a terrific film. Just watch the close-ups of Simran and several other scenes. This is filmmaking masterwork. He had to tone it down with songs and fights and still people didn't understand this film. This is actually a gem.
